Presenters: Connie Schwein, Regional Representative for Steck-Vaughn Publishers,
Linda Correnti, Principal, Manhattan Access GED Program
Room: Salon A

Earning a GED is no longer viewed as an end goal, but rather the opening of a door to postsecondary education, training programs, and the 21ST Century workplace. Where does the responsibility of adult educators end and the responsibility of postsecondary programs begin? What does it take to be “career to college ready” in mathematics? This session will focus on the mathematical skills necessary for students to move successfully into postsecondary training and the workplace, as well as provide sample materials for use in the classroom. After the break, look for Part 2 from 3:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m.
