Success Tracks – An Incentive-Based Program for Out-of-School Youth

Success Tracks is a free literacy program that incorporates literacy/numeracy skills, workplace and career development. The program
provides an alternative path for “at risk” youth to incorporate educational goal attainment with career development skills. This financial
incentives based program is designed to engage WIA Out-of-School Youth by incorporating career planning, exploration, research and
planning with literacy/numeracy skills development. Reading and math instruction focuses on utilizing real life and work application to
improve literacy/numeracy skills. Services can be in one-to-one or small group instruction settings.
How Did You Learn Your A, B, C’s? Songs, Videos and Games
are Effective Teaching Tools!

Increase retention (of students and knowledge) by using videos and games in the classroom. Come experience educational videos
and printed games found for free on the internet. Leave with a list of websites, some new ideas, and a reggae or rap fraction song
stuck in your head!
Community, Education Program Survival – Focus on Supporting the K-12 Mission

Motivating the Unmotivated: Educating and Encouraging Juvenile Learners

This workshop addresses the issues pertinent to teaching 16-20 year old students, including keeping their attention on schoolwork
and keeping them motivated toward academic goals. Workshop includes ideas for inspiring individual assignments and dynamic
multi-level group lessons.
Process Development in the Adult Literacy Program

This workshop will focus on the cross-functional team approach to analysis, development, and implementation of data driven literacy
programs. Learn how standardized internal procedures and systems have resulted in improved communications, program results, and
NRS outcomes. Participants will receive all materials presented in the workshop.

Certificate of Employability (CoE) is a collaborative program coordinated by The Chamber of Schenectady County for the Business & Education Partners. CoE is an education and economic development initiative designed to provide a well-prepared workforce for
the County’s existing businesses, as well as the new industries which are locating to Schenectady County as part of the Tech Valley
Initiative. The goal is to provide employees who are ready to be trained in any new manufacturing and quality control processes
necessary for the employer to meet its business goals.
